Hi
When i use ping.exe in (W2k) i got response time = 300 ms ,but when i use pingplotter i got 2 ms.

if i look at the network trafic in a packet analyser it looks like this
when i use ping.exe i got "ICMP echo reply" from the pinged host
in pingplotter i got "ICMP time exceded" from the pinged host.
I know you are using TTL to get routing path but have the "ICMP time exceded" higer priority? can this cause this behavior?

PingPlotter uses any response it gets from a host that says it is the final destination - whether that be a ICMP TTL Expired or a ICMP Echo reply. Because there is some host that's saying it's the final destination, PingPlotter believes it. This sounds like a router pretty close to you (since it has a 2ms latency). Is that router under your control? Can you offer any details about it? Is this *normal*, a bug in the router bios, or is it a configuration issue with that router?

Hi
you are right itīs the first router that gives this effect
its look like this when i trace from a computer after this router

Tracing route to 10.33.76.200 over a maximum of 30 hops
1 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms 10.33.69.254
2 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms 10.33.64.252
3 47 ms 47 ms 47 ms 10.33.127.254
4 47 ms 47 ms 46 ms 10.33.76.200

And look like this before the router
Tracing route to 10.33.76.200 over a maximum of 30 hops

1 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms 193.183.88.250
2 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms 10.33.76.200
3 <10 ms <10 ms 16 ms 10.33.76.200
4 78 ms 31 ms 94 ms 10.33.76.200
5 16 ms 31 ms 78 ms 10.33.76.200

/Thanks for your help
